As of March B+I Strategy is a member of the Basque Automotive Cluster (ACICAE). Founded in 1993, the ACICAE is a non-profit business association whose aim is to improve competitiveness in the Basque automotive industry.
Considered one of the first clusters of its kind in Europe, ACICAE was constituted both with support from the Basque Government and by following the methodology of Professor Porter. Since its inception it has evolved rapidly, contributing to the four-fold increase in turnover of the Basque automotive industry over the past 21 years, now exceeding €10 billion.
Boasting a membership of over 100 strong, many members ACICAE are also B+I clients (Gestamp, Batz, Fagor Arrasate, Ingemat, Lantegi Batuak), as well as sector leaders (CIE Eutomotive, Inauxa, Cikautxo, Maier, Fagor Ederlan, Irizar, etc.).
With becoming a member of ACICAE, B+I intends to:
- Learn first-hand the challenges facing the sector and the main trends in order to better serve our clients.
- Contribute to the development of the Basque automotive sector by bringing our knowledge of both the market and the challenges companies are facing, as well as our experience working for the public sector.
- Establish new ties of co-operation with sector players.
- Establish and develop business ties with players abroad with the support of the Cluster.
Our colleagues Sabin Azua and María Astigarraga are already fully engaged in Cluster activities.
