Over the months of January and February, Sabin Azua, Oscar Valdivielso and Ainara Ratón have been participating in a series of seminars in Barcelona and Girona (Catalonia) to kick start the programme Start Up Catalonia. Designed by B+I Strategy, the programme is being promoted by the network of accelerators ACCIÓ (Catalan Government Agency for the Promotion of Business Innovation and Internationalisation).
With 25 entrepreneurs from Girona participating in the pilot session, the B+I Strategy team presented the details of a packaged analysis model and evolution of the business model of each entrepreneur, based on a battery of simple tools and methodologies. This model was previously presented and validated with 35 representatives from the network of tutors set up in order to support the entrepreneurs as they take their initial steps in business.
Over the coming months ACCIÓ is planning on extending the programme throughout its network of accelerators present throughout Catalonia.
In an equivalent programme aimed at SMEs (“360° Competitiveness”) which was designed by B+I Strategy, and which was run from 2010 to 2012, over 200 company executives throughout Catalonia were assisted. Participants expressed satisfaction when surveyed with scores coming out at close to 9 out of 10. The model of business intervention was intended to promote strategic thinking and operational action in companies, with a two-pronged approach to preparing for the future by managing the present.
