Launch of the “UrETEkoZItuz” Project to promote the Circular Economy in SMEs in the Urola Erdia region

On 23rd March, the UrETEkoZItuz Project was launched in Azpeitia with the aim of promoting the Circular Economy in industrial companies in the Urola Erdia region of Gipuzkoa.

Promoted by Iraurgi Berritzen (the agency for the socio-economic promotion and innovation of the Urola Erdia region), and with the assessment and technical support of the B+I Strategy team, the project is being developed within the framework of the first-ever edition of the Circular SME Programme sponsored by Ihobe (a publicly-owned company under the Basque Government's Ministry for the Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing). The goal of the project is to identify, assess and prioritise new opportunities and market niches linked to the Circular Economy in six industrial SMEs in the machinery and capital goods sector in order to create an individual action plan to both capitalise on, and develop these new opportunities.

Our role, here at B+I, is to escort each company in that process by means of an individualised thinking process and action plan which employ internationally-used methodologies. As a result, companies are able to improve their competitive positioning, minimise business risk, create new projects and sustainable business activities, ultimately leading to a regeneration of the regional business network and the creation of skilled 'green' jobs.

Another step forward in the business transformation towards the Circular Economy!
