On 13th September, Sabin Azua participated in a round-table discussion on the 'Geoestrategic Positioning of the Basque Territories' as part of the summer courses offered by the Public Basque University (UPV/EHU). Organised by Eusko Ikaskuntza (The Society for Basque Studies) within the programme on "Basque Territories and Social Cohesion", the other participants in the round-table were: Francisco Aldecoa (Universidad Complutense de Madrid); Cristina Astier (Globernance); Adrián Zelaia (EKAI Center); and moderated by Igor Filibi (UPV/EHU).

During the course of the discussion, various points of view were put forward on the potential of the Basque territories to promote our country’s identity and social cohesion. Additional topics discussed were the strategic place of the Basque Region within the European Union, and the potential of self-government to create a framework of improved social cohesion, to name a few.
