On Tuesday 24th May, Iraurgi Berritzen organised a workshop under the title 'Fostering employee participation in companies in Urola Erdia', at Intsausti Mansion in Azkoitia, Gipuzkoa. During the session, attendees were able to hear first-hand the experiences of a number of SMEs in the region where employee participation was implemented, and who shared the 'whys and hows' of the process.
Amongst its priorities of action, Iraurgi Berritzen (the agency for the socio-economic promotion and innovation of the Urola Erdia region of Gipuzkoa), and organiser of the workshop, is to create encounters to disseminate business experiences to the benefit of public and private players in the region. The goal of these actions is to strengthen competitiveness in entrepreneurial and regional projects in innovation in both systems of work and employee participation.

They went on to explain some of its benefits to a company, the usual reasons of the implementation of this model, as well as the necessary prerequisites for undertaking such an organisz1ational transformation.
