Ana Avendaño holds a first degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Deusto Business School (Bilbao 1997), with the last year of her programme having been completed at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (the Paris Higher Business School) as part of the Erasmus Programme. Furthermore, she is also an active member of the Harvard MOOC International Alumni Association.
Ana began her career with in February 1998 in the multinational consulting division of KPMG Consulting, occupying a variety of posts for over five years. From July 2003 to July 2005 she was at BearingPoint where she specialized in the areas of Strategy, Competitiveness, and Innovation. In 2005, Ana joined B+I Strategy as a partner and specialises in the field of Strategy and Competitiveness.
Throughout her career, Ana has worked on a wide range of projects: thinking processes; strategic planning; defining innovation plans and strategies; feasibility studies and business plans, projects of organisational transformation; definition and follow-up of public policies and evaluating the economic impact of activities in both the public and private sectors.
Additionally, she has completed work for numerous public and private sectors such as automotive, renewable energies, industrial goods, education, and media and entertainment. Some of her main clients include: Gestamp Group, Guascor Group (currently Dresser-Rand); Alestis Aerospace; Elecnor Group; Ampo; EDP Energy; Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; Ikerlan; Tecnalia; Innobasque (Basque Innovation Agency); Bilbao Chamber of Commerce, University of Deusto; Bilbao Port Authority; the Government of Catalonia; the Provincial Government of Bizkaia; as well as several Ministries and Departments of the Basque Government,
Finally, Ana speaks regularly at various local and international fora and has co-authored a number of publications, articles and case studies on Strategy and Innovation. She has also participated in B+I Strategy research projects on Strategy, namely, “The Innovation Kite” and “Design and development of Business Strategies.”
Since 2007, Ana has lectured at the University of Deusto Business School, and participates in the university’s coaching programme.
